Ballet 6-7 years old in Santa Maria da Feira

Partner: Ninho das Artes
R. São Paulo da Cruz 33, 4520-249 Santa Maria da Feira

Is your child 6 or 7 years old?
This is the perfect age to turn play into art and begin learning the discipline and beauty of classical ballet. This Fundamentals class is designed to introduce the foundations of technique in a gradual, positive, and motivating way, respecting each child's pace.

What is learned at this stage?
Here, we take the first technical steps in a structured way, building a solid foundation for the future. The focus is on:
- Posture and Alignment: Learning correct posture, the placement of the arms, and the five basic positions of the feet.
- Coordination and Musicality: Performing the first exercises in the center, developing motor coordination and the ability to follow the rhythm of the music.
- Discipline and Focus: Introducing the structure of a ballet class, teaching concentration, and respect for the teacher and classmates.
- Expression and Confidence: Using dance as a form of expression, helping the child gain confidence in their body and abilities.

The First Step to the Stage!
Investing in ballet classes at this age gives your child valuable tools of concentration, discipline, and self-esteem that they will carry for a lifetime. This is where a passion for dance truly begins to blossom.

1. My child is very shy. Is the class suitable?
A: Yes, absolutely. We know this is often a child's first group experience. Our environment is designed to be welcoming and encouraging. Through playful activities, we help shy children to open up at their own pace, building confidence and making new friends.

2. Is any special equipment or clothing required?
A: Yes, a specific uniform is required for ballet classes (usually a leotard, tights, and ballet slippers). The school will provide all the necessary information about the required gear upon enrollment.

3. Can parents watch the classes?
A: To ensure the full concentration of our little dancers, classes are held with only the students and the teacher. However, we organize open classes and presentations throughout the year so that parents can see their child's progress and the work they've developed.

4. Is the class for both girls and boys?
A: Absolutely! Ballet is an extremely beneficial activity for all children, regardless of gender. All boys and girls are welcome to discover the magic of dance.

5. Is there a show at the end of the year?
A: Typically, the school year culminates in a show or an open class where students have the opportunity to showcase what they've learned on stage. It is a moment of great pride for the little dancers and their families.

6. What if my child misses a class?
A: We understand that unexpected things happen. Although make-up classes are not guaranteed, you should always communicate the situation to the school to find the best possible solution, depending on the circumstances.
