About the Norton de Matos Center
Founded in 1950 in what was then the Bairro Marechal Carmona, it is now an essential reference point in Coimbra, known for its strong social, cultural, and sporting initiatives. With over 900 members and 800 participants, the center promotes activities in education, competition, and wellness, catering to the community's needs. Originally called the Centro de Recreio Popular do Bairro Marechal Carmona, it adopted its current name after the April 25, 1974 revolution, solidifying its status as one of the city's most active and relevant institutions, with a steadfast commitment to the common good and inclusion.
