Want to Learn to Play the Violin?
You can do it! Anyone can learn to play, regardless of their current skill level. At the Norton de Matos Center, you'll have a dedicated teacher by your side, focused on helping you achieve your goals.

Throughout the lessons, you’ll explore the full potential of the violin, learning exercises to develop dexterity and motor coordination, scales, chords, and techniques that will enable you to perform any type of repertoire.

Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll be ready to confidently create or join musical projects as a violinist!

Price Includes
- 1 or 2 lessons per week, each lasting 45 minutes

Price Does Not Include
- Registration and insurance, which must be completed at the school upon registration (€30)

About the Norton de Matos Center
Founded in 1950 in what was then the Bairro Marechal Carmona, it is now an essential reference point in Coimbra, known for its strong social, cultural, and sporting initiatives. With over 900 members and 800 participants, the center promotes activities in education, competition, and wellness, catering to the community's needs. Originally called the Centro de Recreio Popular do Bairro Marechal Carmona, it adopted its current name after the April 25, 1974 revolution, solidifying its status as one of the city's most active and relevant institutions, with a steadfast commitment to the common good and inclusion.
