1. How long is each class and what is the recommended frequency?
A: Ballet classes for 5-year-old children typically last between 45 to 50 minutes. The ideal frequency of 1 to 2 times per week allows for consistent development, combining fun with an introduction to the technical foundations of ballet.
2. Is ballet at age 5 very technical? Is it safe?
A: At age 5, the main focus remains playful, but we begin to introduce the first technical steps in a structured way (posture, musicality, basic positions). It is completely safe and age-appropriate, as all activities are led by qualified teachers who respect each child's development.
3. What are the main developmental benefits?
A: The benefits continue and deepen: improved motor coordination, balance, and posture, along with a greater stimulation of concentration and choreographic memory. At age 5, teamwork also becomes more prominent, strengthening socialization, self-confidence, and positive discipline.
4. What is the recommended attire for a 5-year-old?
A: The recommended attire remains the same: a leotard and ballet slippers. For this age group, full-sole ballet slippers are still the most suitable as they offer greater stability and support. The exact model and color are determined by the school.
5. Are pointe shoes used?
A: No, absolutely not. Pointe shoes are not used in classes for 5-year-olds. Their use requires a bone maturity and technical development that are only achieved many years later, to ensure the child's complete safety.
6. What are the class sizes and the level of supervision?
A: Our classes are small to ensure that each child receives the individual attention necessary for their development and safety. The quality of our teaching and supervision is our priority.
7. Can parents watch the classes?
A: To maintain the group's focus and promote the children's autonomy, classes are held without parents or guardians in the room. The school may schedule specific moments, such as open classes or showcases, to share the children's progress with their families.
8. Do you offer a trial class? How do I register?
A: Yes, it is possible to schedule a trial class, subject to availability. You can register directly through our website or contact us via WhatsApp or phone to ask questions and secure your child's spot.
9. Does the price include registration and insurance?
A: The monthly plan fee covers the classes. Registration and personal accident insurance are handled directly at the school upon enrollment (not included in the plan).
10. What should we bring to class?
A: The uniform indicated by the school, ballet slippers, a water bottle, and hair properly tied back (preferably in a bun) to ensure comfort and safety during movement.
11. What is the progression like after age 5?
A: At age 5, the child consolidates the foundations of dance in a playful way. Progression to the next levels (6-7 years, etc.) is gradual, introducing new technical elements as their physical and cognitive maturity allows, ensuring a safe and motivating evolution.
12. Are there any performances or showcases?
A: Yes, the school regularly organizes performances or sharing moments so that families can appreciate the work developed and so the little dancers can have their first stage experience.
13. Does ballet help children who are shy or very active?
A: Yes, it's excellent for both profiles. For shyer children, it helps develop self-confidence and expression within a group. For more active children, the structured class environment helps channel their energy positively, working on focus and discipline in a fun way.
