R. Marquês de Pombal 60, 2200-390 Abrantes

Art is not a gift. It is a skill that can be learned — and this atelier has been proving it for 30 years.
Drawing and painting are universal languages that anyone can learn — regardless of age, talent or experience. In Abrantes, more than 600 students have already discovered that art is within everyone's reach — from age 6 to 105.

With a personalised teaching method and small groups of no more than 6 students, each person progresses at their own pace — learning the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting in a welcoming, creative and inspiring environment.

No prior experience is required. All you need is the desire to learn.

1. Is prior experience required to sign up?
A: No. Classes are open to all levels — from complete beginners to more experienced practitioners. Teaching is always adapted to each student's level and goals, so no prior experience in drawing or painting is required.

2. From what age can students enrol?
A: Classes are open from the age of 6. There is no maximum age limit — art has no expiry date and anyone, at any stage of life, can learn to draw and paint.

3. How does the timetable work? Do I need to be present for the full 3 hours?
A: No. Within the available class block, each student chooses the 1 or 2-hour slot that best fits their schedule. Teaching is individual within the group, so each person works at their own pace during the time they have chosen.

4. How many students are there per session?
A: Groups have a maximum of 6 students per session — a deliberate choice to ensure close, personalised and high-quality guidance.

5. Are materials included in the price?
A: Yes. All materials needed for classes are included in the price — pencils, paints, brushes, paper and more. Canvases are the only additional cost, to be confirmed directly with the atelier.

6. Will I learn drawing and painting at the same time or do I have to choose?
A: You do not have to choose. Classes cover both drawing and painting, with various techniques available in each area. The learning path is defined together with the teacher, according to your interests and goals.

7. Is there a certificate or diploma at the end?
A: Classes do not have a formal certificate. The goal is genuine artistic learning and the development of each student's creative abilities — not the obtaining of a document.

8. Is it possible to take individual classes without signing up for a monthly plan?
A: Yes. For those who do not want a monthly commitment, individual classes are available at €16 per session — the ideal way to try before committing to a plan.

9. Does the atelier organise exhibitions or events throughout the year?
A: Yes. The atelier has a long tradition of cultural involvement in Abrantes, with exhibitions and artistic initiatives throughout the year. Keep an eye on social media for updates.
