R. São Paulo da Cruz 33, 4520-249 Santa Maria da Feira

Are you looking for a way to dance that values your individual expression?
Contemporary Dance is an invitation to freedom. It's a style that breaks barriers, merges techniques, and allows each body to find its own language of movement. In our classes, you will explore your full creative potential in a collaborative and inspiring group environment.

What will you discover in this class?
- Creative Freedom and Improvisation: Learn to create your own movements and respond to impulses, developing your unique artistic voice
- Technique and Body Awareness: Work on fluidity, control, balance, and the dynamics of movement, including floor work, falls, and recoveries
- Strength, Flexibility, and Stamina: Develop your physical fitness in an integrated way, with movements that work the body as a whole
- Emotional Expression: Use dance as a powerful tool to explore and communicate emotions, telling stories through your body

Find Your Way to Dance
In contemporary dance, there are no 'right' or 'wrong' bodies, only bodies that move. This is your opportunity to connect with yourself, overcome limits, and rediscover the joy of dancing without constraints.

1. Do I need to have dance experience to start?
A: No. Our classes welcome students of all levels, including absolute beginners. Contemporary dance is very focused on individual exploration, making it an excellent starting point for those who have never danced before.

2. What's the main difference from Classical Ballet?
A: While ballet is based on a highly codified and structured technique, contemporary dance seeks freedom of movement. It uses the body in more varied ways, including contact with the floor, torso twists, and improvisation, without the rigid rules of ballet.

3. Do I need to be very flexible?
A: No. Just like in other dance forms, flexibility is a result of training, not a requirement to start. The classes include exercises that will help you develop your flexibility safely and progressively.

4. What clothing and shoes should I wear?
A: The ideal is to wear comfortable clothing that allows for complete freedom of movement (e.g., leggings, sweatpants, a t-shirt). Classes are usually done barefoot, in socks, or, in some cases, with half-sole dance shoes.

5. Are the classes just for young people or are they for adults too?
A: Contemporary dance is for all ages! The expressive and adaptable nature of this style makes it perfect for both young people and adults looking for a physical and artistic activity.
