Your body trains every day. Recovery deserves the same attention.
Sports Massage is a therapeutic technique developed specifically for those who practise physical activity — whether a high-performance athlete or a regular practitioner. Through deep pressure, friction and muscle stretching techniques, it acts directly on the areas of greatest overload, preventing injuries, accelerating recovery and restoring the body's ability to perform at its best.
It is not only for those who are injured. It is for those who want to keep the body in ideal condition — before, during and after training.
In Ílhavo, each session is carried out by appointment and adapted to your specific needs and the sport you practise. Book your session now and return to training faster and stronger.

1. Is Sports Massage only for high-performance athletes?
A: No. Sports Massage is suitable for anyone who practises physical activity regularly — from professional athletes to gym-goers, occasional runners or weekend sports enthusiasts. If your body trains, it benefits from this massage.
2. What is the difference between Sports Massage and a relaxing massage?
A: Sports Massage is more intense and focused on specific areas of muscle overload. It uses deep pressure, transverse friction and assisted stretching techniques to treat and prevent injuries. A relaxing massage has a more general wellbeing and relaxation goal. They are complementary — and many practitioners have both.
3. When should I have Sports Massage — before or after training?
A: It depends on the goal. Before training, a lighter session prepares the muscles and improves performance. After training, a deeper session accelerates recovery and reduces muscle fatigue. The therapist adapts the technique to the moment and your goal.
4. Is the massage painful?
A: It may cause some sensitivity in areas of greatest tension or overload — which is completely normal and indicates that the technique is working where it is needed. The intensity is always adapted to your comfort level. It is important to communicate how you are feeling during the session.
5. How often should I have Sports Massage?
A: For athletes in an intensive training period, a weekly or fortnightly session is recommended. For regular practitioners, a monthly session is sufficient for maintenance. In the case of injury or specific recovery, the frequency is defined on a case by case basis.
6. How long is the session and what is the price?
A: Two options are available — a 30-minute session for €25 or a 60-minute session for €40. For athletes with more specific recovery needs, we recommend the 60-minute session.
7. Is any preparation needed before the session?
A: It is recommended to arrive a few minutes early so that the therapist can assess the areas of greatest tension. Avoid intense training immediately before the session and stay hydrated before and after the massage.
8. How do I make a booking?
A: Sessions are by appointment. You can book directly through the WOU registration form or contact us via WhatsApp.
