1. What exactly is Wing Fight and how does it differ from other martial arts?
A: Wing Fight is a complete martial art that prepares practitioners for all types of attacks — punches, kicks, elbows, knees, ground work, multiple attackers and weapons. Unlike many sport-oriented martial arts, Wing Fight has a practical and direct focus on real self-defence — with a simple, effective system adapted to anyone.

2. From what age can students enrol?
A: Training sessions are available from age 10. Teaching is always adapted to the age and abilities of each student.

3. Is prior experience in martial arts required?
A: No. Training sessions are open to all levels — from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. The instructor adapts the programme to each student's goals and limitations.

4. How is each training session structured?
A: Each session lasts 1h30 — 30 minutes of physical preparation and 1 hour of technical training. The physical preparation improves general fitness, motor coordination and agility, while the technical training develops self-defence and combat skills.

5. Is specific equipment required to start?
A: Equipment is optional at the beginning. For safer and more comfortable practice, gloves, a mouthguard and genital protection are recommended — but are not mandatory for the first classes.

6. How does the trial class work?
A: The first class is free and with no commitment whatsoever. It is the ideal opportunity to get to know the space, the instructor and experience Wing Fight before deciding to sign up. Simply contact us and show up.

7. Does Wing Fight include weapons training?
A: Yes. The Wing Weapon programme covers training with sticks, knives, swords and other instruments — a unique component that sets Wing Fight apart from many other martial arts.

8. Are there competitions or events throughout the year?
A: Competitions are not the main focus of the academy. Wing Fight Madeira focuses on personal development, practical self-defence and the technical evolution of each student — regardless of competitive goals.

9. How do I enrol?
A: You can enrol directly through the WOU registration form or contact us via WhatsApp. The first class is free — there is no reason not to try!
