1. What exactly is Yoga and how does a class work?
A: Yoga is an ancient practice that combines physical positions (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation — working the body and mind simultaneously. In a class, the teacher guides the group through a sequence of positions adapted to each participant's level, with a focus on breathing and body awareness.
2. Is prior experience required to start?
A: No. Classes are open to all levels — from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Teaching is progressive and adapted to each student's pace. The most important thing is the desire to begin.
3. Do I need to bring a mat or specific equipment?
A: It is recommended to bring your own yoga mat. For clothing, opt for something comfortable that allows freedom of movement — leggings or tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt are ideal. Classes are practised barefoot.
4. How many people are there per class?
A: Groups are small — in a family-friendly and welcoming environment that allows for close and personalised support from the teacher.
5. How does the free trial class work?
A: The first class is completely free and with no commitment whatsoever. It is the ideal opportunity to get to know the space, the teacher and experience Yoga before deciding to sign up. Simply contact us and show up.
6. What are the health benefits of Yoga?
A: Yoga improves flexibility, muscle strength and balance — and has widely recognised benefits for mental health: it reduces stress and anxiety, improves sleep quality and promotes a general sense of wellbeing. It is one of the most complete and accessible practices for all ages.
7. Are the classes in person or online?
A: Classes are in person, at Rua de Santo Isidro 134, in Bonfim, Porto — on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
8. How do I enrol?
A: You can enrol directly through the WOU registration form or contact us via WhatsApp. Remember that the first class is free — there is no reason not to try!
